DESSERTS ON A DIME

This easy Christmas mints recipe is perfect for the holidays and so festive. They are smooth and creamy for a great addition to your dessert table.

REST Time:  4 HRS

Ingredients

– Cream Cheese – Butter – Powdered Sugar – Peppermint Extract – Red & Green Gel Food Coloring – Granulated Sugar

COMBINE

Cream together the cream cheese and butter in a mixing bowl. Combine until smooth and creamy.

ADD SUGAR

Then add in 1 cup of the powdered sugar.  Then mix in the peppermint extract. Add in the remaining sugar.

ADD COLOR

 Then divide into 3 bowls.  Add the red coloring to one bowl, the green to another and then one white and mix well

ROLL DOUGH

Cover and refrigerate the dough for 2 hours. Roll the dough to form balls. Then place the balls on the baking sheets.

FORM MINTS

Dip  a fork in the granulated sugar and then press the fork down onto mints to flatten them and make a line pattern

REST

Then allow the mints to sit at room temperature until they have fully hardened (4-6 hours).

quick tips

Add a handful of sprinkles to the mint mixture. They will look even more festive.

The mints turn out best using gel food coloring. The color is vibrant
