- 1 cup Fresh Blackberries
- 1 Lemon juiced
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter softened
- 5-6 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tablespoon Milk
Get Recipe Ingredients
Place the blackberries and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a low simmer (stirring frequently) for 20 minutes until the blackberries become a puree mixture.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer and set the blackberry syrup aside to cool.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and blackberry mixture with a hand held mixer or stand up mixer until smooth.
Add in the powdered sugar and mix on medium high speed until the mixture is fluffy, creamy and smooth.
Add in the vanilla extract and milk. Mix until combined.
Chill until ready to use and then the frosting is ready to enjoy!
If the frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar and if the frosting is too thick, add more milk until the frosting is the consistency that you prefer.
Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
