Ingredients

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 2 cans apple pie filling 21 ounce cans
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce or topping
  • 1 stick butter sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Spread 2 (21-ounce) cans apple pie filling evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Drizzle ½ cup caramel sauce evenly over the apple pie filling.
  • Sprinkle 1 yellow cake mix evenly over the caramel and apple filling, covering the entire surface.
  • Slice 1 stick butter into thin pats and arrange them evenly over the top of the cake mix. Alternatively, melt the butter and drizzle it evenly over the cake mix.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly around the edges.
  • Bake in 350 degree oven for 50 to 60 minutes.
  • Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and an extra drizzle of caramel sauce, if desired.
