Cake Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, salt and baking soda.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the vanilla, vinegar, oil and water.
  • Then mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients with a hand held mixer until they are thoroughly combined.
  • Pour into a greased 8X8 baking dish. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.

Frosting Directions:

  • Combine the butter and cocoa into a mixing bowl and stir by hand.
  • Add in the remaining ingredients and combine with a hand held mixer until the frosting is fully formed.
  • Spread the frosting on the cake and serve immediately. Enjoy!
