Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter, sugar and vanilla extract with a hand held mixer or stand up mixer.  Then add in the milk and beat until combined.
  • Then stir in the flour by hand.  Add more milk at this time depending on the consistency of your cookie dough.
  • Then stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Roll the cookie dough into approximately 1 inch size balls and refrigerate them for 20-30 minutes (no longer as then the sticks won’t go into the cookie dough).
  • Put the chocolate candy melts in a small microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds, then stir.  Then continue to heat in 30 second intervals stirring between each one until the candy melts are fully melted and creamy.
  • Dip each cake pop stick into the melted candy and then place them into the cookie dough balls about halfway into the balls.
  • Then carefully dip each cookie dough balls into the melted candy melts.  Make sure that the candy covers the balls completely.  Allow the excess melted candy to drip off back into the bowl.
  • Then place the stick of cake pops in a block of styrofoam, top with sprinkles immediately and allow the candy coating to dry.
  • Continue until all the cookie dough balls have been covered.
  • Then the cookie dough cake pops are ready to enjoy!

Notes

Store the leftover cake pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
*If the melted candy melt is too thick, thin it out with a small amount of vegetable oil or coconut oil.  Add it slowly to the melted chocolate.
