Line a 9 x9-inch pan with parchment paper.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, stirring constantly, and cook for 4 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until smooth and fully melted.
Mix in the marshmallow creme, vanilla extract, and nuts (if using).
Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until completely set.
Once set, lift the parchment paper out of the pan, transfer the fudge to a flat surface, and cut into small squares for serving.
No candy thermometer needed to make this fudge but make sure to boil the mixture for the entire 4 minutes.
Storage: Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Place parchment or wax paper between layers to prevent sticking.
For longer freshness, keep in the fridge for up to 2 to 3 weeks. Make sure it’s in a tightly sealed container to avoid absorbing odors.
