Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 6 Large Baking Apples peeled, cored and cut into 1/4 inch slices
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Small Lemon juiced
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt

For the Caramel:

  • 1 1/2 cup Caramel Sauce divided

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 cup Butter melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a 9X13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Add the filling ingredients into a large mixing bowl.  Toss to thoroughly combine all the ingredients.
  • Pour in 1 cup of the caramel sauce and toss to coat the apples in the caramel.
  • Then pour the mixture into the baking dish.
  • For the topping, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together in a mixing bowl.
  • Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.  Do not over mix.
  • Pour the topping mixture over the apples in the baking pan.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cobbler to sit for 15-20 minutes and then serve topped with ice cream and the remaining caramel sauce.  Enjoy!
