Ingredients

  • 1 cup Salted Butter softened
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar packed
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2/3 cup All Purpose Flour heated treated and cooled
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2-4 Tablespoons Milk as needed
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3/4 cup Mini Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  • Bake the flour at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-5 minutes to kill any bacteria in the flour and then let it cool completely.
  • Cream the cup in a stand up mixer or hand held mixer until light and fluffy.  Add in the brown sugar and cream for 2-3 minutes until combined.
  • Turn the speed down to a low speed and gradually add in the powdered sugar until well incorporated.
  • Then add in the flour and mix for approximately 1 more minute until combined.
  • Add in the vanilla extract and then add in the milk 1 tablespoon at a time until the frosting is the consistency that you prefer.
  • Carefully fold in the mini chocolate chips.  Then the frosting is ready to use and enjoy!

Notes

Chill until ready to use on your favorite cake or cupcake recipe.
Since this frosting has chocolate chips in it, you are not able to pipe it onto cupcakes.  Use an ice cream scoop or spatula to top onto cupcakes.
