This recipe for Deep Fried Peach Cobbler has luscious peach filling topped with fried dough. It's dusted with powdered sugar and topped with ice cream for the best dessert.
Melt 1/4 cup of butter in a cast iron skillet over medium high heat.
Whisk in the juices from the canned peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice to the pan. Bring the mixture to a low boil, stirring constantly.
Then stir in the peaches. Cook for 5-8 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken. Watch them closely as they cook, so that the peaches do not get too soft.
Remove from heat and let the peaches and sauce cool slightly.
In a separate skillet, melt the remaining butter and add in the olive oil.
Pull each of the biscuits apart.
Place the biscuits in the skillet. Cook each side for 2-3 minutes until they are browned.
Remove them from the skillet to a plate lined with a paper towel to soak up the excess oil.
Top the biscuits with powdered sugar.
When serving, layer the biscuits and peaches with the sauce on a serving bowl or plate. Top with ice cream and enjoy!
