Deep Fried Twinkies

Deep Fried Twinkies make an irresistible treat. Classic twinkies are coated in batter, fried to perfection and dusted with powdered sugar. It is a delicious combination you can easily make at home.

Ingredients

  • 10 Twinkies
  • ¼ cup Powdered Sugar

For the Batter:

  • 1 1/2 cups Pancake Mix
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Heat 3 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot until it is approximately 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together the batter ingredients.
  • Dip each twinkie into the batter until they are fully covered.
  • Place in the heated oil and cook for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown.  Work in batches so you do not crowd the pan.
  • Remove from the oil and place on a plate lined with a paper towel to soak up the oil.
  • Sift the powdered sugar on top of the fried twinkies when serving and enjoy!

Notes

Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days
