Koolaid Popcorn

Koolaid Popcorn is a sweet and salty treat made with your favorite Koolaid flavor. It is so yummy, and the colors are vibrant.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 225 degrees F.
  • Pop the popcorn based on your preference (we used microwave popcorn). Place the popcorn in a large mixing bowl (use 2 bowls if needed).
  • În a medium size saucepan.  Stir together the butter, sugar and light corn syrup.  Mix and heat over medium heat.  Bring the mixture to a boil and let it boil for 3 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the Kool-aid mix and baking soda.  This mixture should double in size and become light and fluffy.
  • Pour the kool-aid mixture over the popcorn and stir to coat the popcorn with the mixture.  Be careful as the mixture will be hot.
  • Pour the coated popcorn on a baking sheet.  Bake for 40 minutes, stir the popcorn every 10 minutes.
  • Allow the popcorn to cool on the baking sheet.  Once cooled, break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

I used microwave popcorn for this recipe, but you can definitely use whichever is your favorite! 
You can store the leftovers at room temperature in an airtight container or bag for up to 1 week.
