Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line an 8X8 baking dish with parchment paper. Make sure that the parchment paper over hinges the edges of the pan and press it down into the baking dish.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter and brown sugar with a hand held mixer or stand up mixer until light and fluffy.
Add in the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
Mix in the flour, salt and baking powder on low speed with the mixer or by hand until the batter is just combined.
Stir the chocolate chips into the batter by hand until evenly distributed.
Press half of the cookie dough batter into the prepared pan. Spread half of the Nutella on top of the cookie dough into an even layer (as possible).
Press the remaining cookie dough on top.
Drop spoonfuls of the remaining Nutella on top of the cookie dough. Use a knife to swirl the Nutella into the cookie dough.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until the bars are golden brown around the edges and the center is still likely jiggly to the touch.
Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool for 10-15 minutes in the pan.
Carefully remove the bars from the pan using the parchment paper and cool completely on a wire rack.
Then slice into bars, serve and enjoy!
