Orange Pound Cake

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 1/3 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 2/3 cup Salted Butter softened
  • 1 Large Orange juice and zest

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup Powder Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoons Orange Juice

Instructions

For the Cake:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 9 inch loaf pan with parchment paper and spray the paper with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Beat together the softened butter and sugar with a hand held or stand up mixer until the mixture is combined and creamy.
  • Add in the eggs on low speed, one at a time until combined.
  • Then mix in the flour and baking powder until just combined.
  • Juice and zest a large orange.  Then gently stir the orange juice and zest into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool for 10-15 minutes in the pan and then move to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Glaze:

  • While the cake is cooling, mix together the powdered sugar and orange juice until you get a glaze.
  • Once the cake has cooled completely, drizzle the glaze on top.
  • Then the cake is ready to slice, serve and enjoy!

Notes

Store the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5-7 days.
