How to Make Orange Pound Cake

  • Step 1 – Heat the Oven – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then line a 9 inch loaf pan with parchment paper and spray the paper with non-stick cooking spray.

Step 2. Beat together the softened butter and sugar in medium bowls. Mix with a hand or stand mixer until combined and creamy.

Step 3. Next, add in the eggs one at a time. Mix on low speed until combined.

Step 4. Then whisk in the flour and baking powder until just combined. 

Orange juice and zest combined into batter.

Step 5. Juice and zest a large orange.  Then gently stir the orange juice and zest into the batter.

Step 6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Let the cake cool for 10-15 minutes in the pan and then move to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 7. While the cake is cooling, make the glaze. Combine the powdered sugar and orange juice.
