Peeps Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
  • 16-20 Peeps Variety of Colors
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter
  • Pastel Sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and spray a 9X13 baking pan with a non-stick cooking spray.
  • Remove the Peeps from the packages and place them individually in the bottom of the pan.  Place the Peeps in a single layer in the bottom of the pan.
  • Pour the Rice Krispie cereal on top of the Peeps and spread the cereal out into a single layer.
  • Slice the butter into thin strips and place the butter on top of the cereal layer in the pan.  Bake for 8 minutes.
  • Spray a spatula with a non-stick cooking spray and use the spatula to gently stir the ingredients in the pan.  Once mixed, spray a piece of wax paper with non-stick cooking spray and use the wax paper to press the mixture down into the bottom of the pan.
  • Sprinkle the pastel sprinkles on top and gently press them down into the bars.  Let the bars sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes until set.
  • Then they are ready to cut into bars, serve and enjoy!

Notes

Do not store these in the refrigerator. They are best left to cool at room temperature so that the remain gooey and delicious!
Store in an airtight container and they should last for up to 1 week.
