- Christmas Cookies – Add some holiday sprinkles to the cookies as soon as your take them out of the oven.
- Nuts – You can easily add nuts to the cake mixture or add them to the top of the cookie after they are finished baking.

How to Make Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
- Step 1. Prepare the Oven – First, Preheat the oven to 350 or 375 degrees.
Step 2. Pour the cake mix in a large bowl.
Step 3. Add the eggs and oil. Whisks together the egg mixture.
Step 4. Combine the ingredients together. As you fold the batter, it will be thick but that’s normal. You can use a stand mixer or hand mixer for these cookies after you add the egg and oil.
Step 5. Scoop the dough into balls using a cookie scoop or tablespoon to roll into balls. Drop in powdered sugar coating until completely covered. Use a couple of teaspoons to remove from the sugar.
Step 6. Place the cookie dough balls on the prepared cookie sheets. Finally, use a glass to gently press each cookie down. This gives the cookies that crinkle look when baking.
Step 7. Bake the cookies until slightly brown on the edges. The baking time may vary. Allow to cool. Serve chocolate crinkle cookies cake mix on cookie trays.
Recipe tips
- Use Cookie Scoop – I highly recommend using a cookie scoop. You will thank me later because it saves so much time on spooning out the cookies.
- Cooling Rack – It is also a good idea to use a cooling rack. Place the cookies on racks to cool completely.
- Lined Baking Sheets – We also line baking sheets with parchment paper. This makes cleaning large baking sheets easier as well.
- Baking Liners – Another handy kitchen item I like to use are these baking liners to bake my cookies. Clean up is easy and the cookies turn out perfectly every time.
- No Need Chill Dough – Once you have mix together the ingredients, there is no need to chill the dough. You can begin scooping the dough into balls and placing on the baking sheets.
- Do NOT add any of the other ingredients required for the cake on the back of the box. Just use the dry ingredients only from the boxed cake mix.
How to Store
Store any leftover quick chocolate crinkle cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Also, you can put a piece a bread in the container with the cookies to keep the cookies moist.
How to Freeze
You can also easily freeze these cake mix crinkle cookies. Place them in a freezer bag or freezer container for up to 2-3 months. I like to also cover in plastic wrap.
Let the cookies defrost at room temperature and then they are ready to enjoy.
