Storage

Room Temperature: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week to keep it crisp and fresh.

Avoid Humidity: Keep away from moisture and humidity, as popcorn can quickly become soggy.

Freezing (Optional): You can freeze the popcorn in a tightly sealed container for up to 1 month. Thaw at room temperature before serving.

Do Not Refrigerate: Refrigeration can make the popcorn lose its crispness and the cotton candy coating sticky.

Pro Tips

  • Use Plain or Buttered Popcorn: We used plain popcorn for a neutral base, but lightly buttered popcorn adds extra flavor. Just avoid heavily salted or flavored varieties.
  • Choose Your Candy Melt Colors: Candy melts come in a wide range of fun shades. Mix and match to fit your theme. We recommend using candy melts instead of white chocolate with food coloring for smoother melting and more vibrant colors.
  • Line Your Pan: Always line your baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. It prevents sticking and makes cleanup much easier.
  • Remove Unpopped Kernels: Before adding the coating, carefully sift through the popcorn to remove any unpopped kernels. They’re not pleasant to bite into!
  • Work Quickly: Once the candy melts are drizzled, mix right away. The coating sets fast, so quick mixing ensures even coverage.
  • Add Sprinkles While Wet: If using sprinkles, add them immediately after drizzling the candy melts so they stick before the coating sets.
  • Serve the Same Day: For the freshest texture and flavor, serve this treat the same day it’s made.
  • Store in an Airtight Container: If storing, keep it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days to prevent the popcorn from going stale.
