Step 6. Then remove the popcorn from the oven and place on a baking sheet to cool.  While the popcorn is cooling, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips.  Place the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and heat in 30 second intervals. Make sure to stir after each interval until melted.

Pro Tips

  • Use Fresh Popcorn – Popcorn should be freshly popped and fully cooled before adding caramel and chocolate to prevent sogginess.
  • Chop Snickers Evenly – Cut candy bars into uniform pieces for consistent bites.
  • Melt Chocolate Slowly – Use a microwave in 20–30 second intervals to prevent burning.
  • Toss Gently – Fold the caramel, chocolate, and Snickers into the popcorn carefully to avoid crushing the popcorn.
  • Line a Baking Sheet – Spread the mixture on parchment paper to cool and set without sticking.
  • Add Toppings Immediately – Sprinkle extra chocolate drizzle, nuts, or sprinkles while the popcorn is still warm for best adherence.
  • Customize Flavors – Mix in other candies, nuts, or a pinch of sea salt to enhance the sweet and salty balance.

Storage

Room Temperature – Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days to keep it fresh and crunchy.

Avoid Refrigeration – Refrigerating can cause the chocolate and caramel to harden and make the popcorn chewy.

Freezing – For longer storage, freeze in a sealed freezer-safe bag or container for up to 1 month. Thaw at room temperature before serving.

Keep Dry – Ensure the container is completely sealed and the popcorn is cool before storing to prevent moisture and sogginess.
