Recipe Tips
- Blocks of Cream Cheese – Before combining ingredients make sure the cream cheese has softened to room temperature. It allows for the cream cheese to mix smooth and creamy.
- Prepare Springform Pan – Prepare the pan by lining with parchment paper and grease the sides. This helps for cleanup and for serving the cheesecake.
- Oreo Crust – Crush the Oreos in a food processor and mix with the melted butter. Makes sure it is fully combined with the melted butter. Then press the crust in the pan on the sides and bottom of pan. Allow the crust to bake and cool completely before pouring in the filling.
- Nutella Cheesecake Filling – Combine the cheesecake filling with a stand mixer with a paddle attachment. This helps to completely combine the ingredients.
- Baking the Cheesecake – Make sure to initially cook the cheesecake in the oven at low temperature. Then allow the cheesecake to cool in the oven and then on the wire rack.
- Nutella Glaze – After combining the ingredients for the glaze, make sure to immediately spread the glaze over the cheesecake.
- Make Ahead – This is the perfect dessert to make ahead of time. This cheesecake needs to chill for several hours after baking and after spreading the glaze. We like to make ahead the night before we are serving.
- Water Bath – With cheesecake recipe, there is no need to do a water bath.

How to Cool the Cheesecake
Cooling the cheesecake is important part of making the cheesecake. Once you have baked the cheesecake, you need to allow it to cool in the oven.
You want the cheesecake to cool in the oven for about 15 minutes. This helps to prevent the cheesecake from cracking.
Then after this time, remove the cheesecake from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack. Allow cheesecake to completely cool before frosting the cheesecake.
