How to Make Brown Sugar Syrup

Step 1. Combine the ingredients. Mix all the ingredients together in a small saucepan. Make sure to combine the brown sugar and water thoroughly.

Step 2. Simmer the mixture. Bring the mixture to a low simmer over medium heat.  Stir and heat until the brown sugar dissolves but don’t boil.

Step 3. Then reduce the heat to low and simmer on low for approximately 5 minutes.

Step 4. Remove the pot from heat.  Let it cool for a few minutes and then move it to a glass bottle, jar or container. Place in the refrigerator and use in your favorite coffee drinks and enjoy! 

Storage

Make sure the syrup is completely cool before storing in the fridge. This is important!

Refrigerate this syrup in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. We use a mason jar but you can use any container that you have on hand. It is easy to pour if you use a glass jar container.

If serving this with pancakes or waffles and desire it warm, reheat in the microwave if preferred. We suggest reheating in 15 second intervals so it does not burn. However, this is optional and not necessary.
