Expert Tips
- Don’t mix the layers in the crock pot. Place the cake layer in the slow cooker without mixing together with the fruit.
- Cooking time is an estimate. Crock Pot cooking times vary. Monitor the dessert to ensure it is properly cooked.
- Keep the top crispy. If the top isn’t getting brown and crispy, place a paper towel on top of the crock pot. Then place the lid over it. This will help reduce any moisture.
- Don’t add sugar. The heavy syrup in the peaches and the sweetness from the cake mix it perfect. I don’t recommend adding extra sugar to the fruit.
- Keep the liquid in the peaches. Don’t drain the fruit before placing in the crock pot.
