Can you just freeze yogurt to make frozen yogurt?

No, if you freeze yogurt, it will just freeze solid. It needs to be processed using a food processor and the other ingredients blended together. This will result in the desired consistency and not just a solid frozen block of yogurt.

Pro Tips

  • You will need a large food processor to make this recipe. I use my food processor all of the time and it is definitely a kitchen gadget that I love. It is so handy for lots of recipes.
  • I like to let the frozen yogurt sit at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes before scooping. It helps it to have more of a soft serve consistency.
  • Full fat yogurt is best. The texture and taste will be creamier with full-fat yogurt.
