  • Festive. It is the cutest treat for parties.
  • Fast and Simple. The recipe is super easy and quick to make in less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Ingredients to make Oreo Turkey Cookie- candy corn, Oreo cookies, candy eyes, peanut butter chips.
  • Oreo Cookies. Just regular Oreo Cookies and not double stuffed.
  • Candy eyeballs. Kids love these on the cookies.
  • Peanut Butter Chips. I love to use these for beak.
  • Candy Corn. Perfect for the feathers.
  • White Icing. I just used store bought icing.

Find the complete list of ingredients at the bottom of the page.

Additions and Substitutions

  • For the Cookies – You can use any flavor of Oreos. Oreos work the best for this recipe as the candy corn fits perfectly into the cream filling. You can also use double-stuffed oreos instead of regular oreos.
  • For the Eyes – If you cannot find candy eyes in your area, you can use M&Ms or white chocolate chips.
  • For the Nose – Reese’s pieces would work great for the noses on these cookies as well.
  • For the Icing – I usually use pre-made icing to save time. However, you can use homemade royal icing or buttercream icing for this recipe. You can also use food coloring to change the color and use the icing for the nose and eyes.
  • Add a peanut butter cup. – Add a small peanut butter cup on top of the Oreo. Then add the face on top of the peanut butter cup to add more sweetness to these easy cookies.
  • Melted Chocolate. Instead of icing, you can use melted chocolate to adhere the eyes and nose. It makes the perfect glue, and you can use a piping bag.
  • Oreo Pops. Consider adding a popsicle stick in the middle with a little melted chocolate. Kids will love these Oreo pops.

Step By Step Instructions

The tops removed from the Oreos and candy corn placed on top of the Oreo filling to make the feather.

Step 1 – Untwist each Oreo. Place 4 candy corn pieces on the top of each cookie to make candy corn feathers.

Pre-made Icing placed on top of the candy corn

Step 2 – Put some of the white icing on the bottom of the candy corns to help hold the other piece of cookie back on.

The tops of the Oreo Cookies placed back on top of the Candy Corns

Step 3 – Place the cookies back together.

The peanut butter chip placed on the center of the Oreo has a nose

Step 4 – Use a small amount of the icing to put the candy eyes & peanut butter chip on the center of the Oreos.

Pro Tips

  • Don’t use too much icing. You want only enough to get the turkey face to stick. Any excess will just look messy.
  • Allow to set before serving. Give the cookies time to dry so all the pieces stay in place.
  • Regular Oreo Cookies work best. Double stuffed is too thick.

Storage

Once these cookies have been created, store at room temperature in an air tight container or bag.

As long as they are stored correctly, these cookies will last for 2-3 weeks.
