How much is a brownie at Starbucks?
They are $3.25 for one brownie. That can really add up with several children. You can make a homemade batch and save so much money.
This recipe taste just like the ones you buy. In fact, I think they are better because they are fresher. Making this homemade recipe ensures you are getting a fresh brownie every time.
Let’s make this simple to follow brownie recipe. It is super easy and absolutely delicious. You might be surprised just how effortless this is with just a few minimum ingredients.

Ingredients:
- Unsalted Butter, melted & cooled to room temperature
- Granulated Sugar
- Large Eggs
- Vanilla Extract
- All Purpose Flour
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- Salt
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, Divided. The semi-sweet helps to make these brownies not excessively sweet.

How to make Starbucks brownies:
- Preheat the oven. Set the temperature to 350 degrees F and line an 8X8 baking dish with parchment paper.
- Combine the sugar and eggs. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the melted butter, sugar and vanilla extract. Then add the eggs. Whisk to combine.
- Add the cocoa powder. Stir until it’s fully combined.
- Mix in the flour. Then stir in the flour and salt and stir until just combined. Be careful to not over mix.
- Carefully fold in the chocolate chips. Then fold in 1 ½ cups of the chocolate chips.
- Pour brownie batter into baking pan. Pour the batter into the baking dish. Gently tap the baking dish on the counter to level the batter in the pan.
- Top with chocolate chips. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips evenly on top and gently press them down into the batter.
- Bake the brownies. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (make sure it’s not inserted into a chocolate chunk). Due to the large amount of chocolate in this recipe, you might have to try several different places.
- Allow to cool. Cool the brownies on a wire rack for 2 hours. Make sure the edges are set before cutting them and serving them. Attempting to cut these too early will make it difficult to slice clean cuts.

How to store:
Store the leftover brownies in an airtight container for up to 1 week. They are so tasty that ours never last that long. The entire family eats these pretty fast.

Can you freeze Starbucks brownies?
These brownie can be frozen up to 1 to 2 months. Allow to properly cool first and then place inside a freezer container. Make sure it has an air tight lid.
I also suggest placing parchment paper in between the layers of brownies. This will make it easier if you only want to remove one brownie.
It really helps to prevent them from sticking to each other. I would definitely utilize wax paper when storing. See Can you freeze brownies?

Double Chocolate Brownie Starbucks tips:
- Cocoa Powder. Make sure that you are using smooth cocoa powder. If it is lumpy, I suggest sifting it prior to using.
- Melted Butter. This gives the brownie the perfect texture. I do not suggest substituting this for oil.
- Chocolate Chunks. You can substitute chocolate chips for chocolate chunks based on preference.
- Brownie Batter. Do not overmix the batter and combine only until well mixed. It will be thick but this is normal.
