Can I add Nuts?
Yes, you can stir in nuts in the brownie mixture. If there is someone that doesn’t like nuts in their brownies, you can always top one side of the brownies with nuts. This way everyone is happy.
Here are some of our suggestions:
- Walnuts
- Pecans
- Almonds
Should I use a Metal or Glass Pan?
You can use either a metal pan or glass pan. Most people like baking in a metal pan because the brownie edges get a crispy edge. My kids like the middle part of the brownie, but I prefer to have that crispy edge.
If you prefer to you a glass plan, you might need to bake it a few minutes longer.
Tips for the Best Brownies:
- Use a Good Pan – Make sure you have a good pan to make the brownies in. We used a 9×13 pan and they turned out great.
- Line baking pan with parchment paper – I also like to use parchment paper when I bake. It helps make clean up easy.
- Use a Wire Rack – If you don’t have a wire rack, they are so handy to help cool the brownies completely if you plan to take them out and then cut them. I would definitely pick up a set if you don’t have any. They will get used a lot if you bake.
- Combine Ingredients – When mixing the ingredients together, don’t over mix the brownie batter.
- Don’t over bake – Be careful to not over bake the brownies. This will make them lose their delicious fudgy consistency.
Can I use a Smaller Pan?
Yes, if you want a thicker brownie you can use a smaller pan. Try using a 7×11 inch pan or a 8×12 inch pan. Just remember you will need to cook the brownie a little longer.
Variations with One Bowl Brownies:
- Try using Dark Chocolate Chips in the batter.
- You can swirl peanut butter in the batter or try using peanut butter morsels.
- Try White Chocolate Chips in the batter.
- Top the brownies with chocolate frosting or this delicious Vanilla Buttercream frosting.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar on top of the brownies. This looks so pretty.
- Add nuts to this brownie recipe. I like to get a bag of these dry walnuts or you can use peanuts, pecans or whatever you prefer.
