Ingredients

Ingredients for Reindeer Brownie Mix - box brownie mix and ingredients to prepare brownies, chocolate chips, mini pretzels, candy eyes, red m&ms.

Brownies

  • Box Brownie Mix. Make in a 9X13 pan.
  • Ingredients to prepare the Brownie Mix. Based on the box instructions but usually oil or melted butter, water and eggs.

Decorations

  • Chocolate Chips. Use a good quality chocolate. You can use milk chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate.
  • Mini Pretzels. These pretzel twists are the perfect size for the antlers.

Additions and Substitutions

  • Brownies. You can use any brownie mix you love or make homemade Brownies if you prefer to make them from scratch.
  • Nuts. Mix in chopped pecans or walnuts into the brownie batter.
  • Antlers. Use mini candy cane antlers instead of pretzels. You can also use pecan halves for the antlers.

Step By Step Instructions

  • Step 1. Prepare the 9×13 baking pan by lining it with parchment paper.
  • Step 2. Whisk together the brownie mix based on the package instructions. Pour into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven. Then allow to cool.

Pro Tips

  • Melting the chocolate. Make sure to melt the chocolate in intervals so it doesn’t burn. Stir in between each increment.
  • Line the brownie pan. You might want to line the pan with aluminum foil and parchment paper. This will make it easier to lift the brownies out of the pan to cut.
  • Allow to cool before cutting. It’s important to allow the brownies time to cool. They will be hard to cut and fall apart if they don’t cool.
  • Wipe the knife clean. Remove excess brownie residue on the knife after each cut. This will keep the edges of the brownies clean.
  • Don’t add too much chocolate. Apply just a little bit of chocolate to make the reindeer face. Too much chocolate can make the pieces slide off.
  • Use frosting instead of chocolate. You can use chocolate frosting to adhere the reindeer face to the brownies.
