Ingredients
Cake
- Chocolate cake mix. Any brand is fine to use.
- Butter. Real butter is recommended for the best flavor. I like to use butter instead of a cup vegetable oil or canola oil.
- Dr pepper. I don’t recommend using diet.
- Milk. Whole milk is best for the richest taste, but you can substitute reduced fat milk.
- Eggs. Use Room temperature egg. They bake more evenly.
Icing
- Unsweetened cocoa powder. I prefer to use Hershey’s cocoa powder.
- Dr Pepper. This gives the frosting a rich taste.
- Powdered sugar. Sift the powdered sugar so the frosting will be smooth.
