- Glazed Donuts. You can use store bought or Krispy Kreme Donut Recipe.
- Pre-Made White Frosting. I used store bought. Any brand is fine.

- Large Candy Eyeballs. These are located in the baking section. They add such a whimsical touch to the donuts.
- Bright Sugar Sprinkles. You will need an assortment of different colors.
See the full list of ingredients and recipe at the bottom of the post.
Variations
- Chocolate Chips for eyes. Instead of candy eyes, try using chocolate chips. You can utilize mini or regular size for a fun assortment of shapes and sizes.
- Sprinkles. We love to use sugar sprinkles but you can use any type of sprinkles you have or prefer. Jimmies sprinkles also make a great topping to use to garnish monster donuts.
- Frosting. Substitute other flavors and colors of frosting for white icing. You can use chocolate, strawberry, lemon or any combination of several types.
- Skip the plastic fangs on top. You don’t have to top with plastic fangs. This recipe is versatile and you can top with candy eyeballs all over for another fun look.
- Homemade Donuts. If you would use homemade donuts instead of using store bought, feel free to do so.
- M&M Eyes. Another fun option for the monster eye’s is M&M candy. You will need a small amount of icing or melted chocolate to secure each candy eye with.
- No icing or sprinkles. You can actually skip the icing and sprinkles all together. Just use glazed donuts and add the eyes and fangs. It is still really cute and an option for those trying to reduce the ingredients.

- Assortment of colors – Make several different colors for a festive selection.
- Enjoy right away. They are best served right away. If you need to prepare in advance, wait to add the toppings.
Frequently Asked Questions
These are best served fresh. However, you can keep them at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Make sure to arrange them in single layers so the decorations don’t get messed up.
If you plan to serve these at a party, it is fine to make them earlier in the day. It will help give you time to prepare other menu items closer to the party time if needed. I would not make them 24 hours in advance to ensure freshness but earlier in the day is fine.
