Ingredients

- Oreo Cookies. The recipe is best with regular Oreo cookies and not double stuffed.
- Rope Black Licorice. The ropes are easy to cut to size for the spider legs.
- Candy Eyes. You can find these on the baking aisle usually.
- White Icing. I use store bought to make it quick and easy.

Substitutions and Additions
- Melted Chocolate – For add chocolate flavor, dip the Oreo in melted chocolate.
- Double Stuffed Oreos – We used the regular Oreos in this recipe, but you can use any flavor of Oreo. They even Halloween Oreos during the holidays.
- Chocolate Chips – If you do not have candy eyes, you can easily substitute with white chocolate chips.
- Frosting – We used already prepared frosting. But you can place homemade icing in a piping bag to make the eyes and to hold everything together.
- Peanut Butter – For the delicious combination of chocolate and peanut butter, spread peanut butter on the Oreo.
- Candy Corn – Place candy corn in the Oreos to create teeth for the spider.
- Spider Legs – We used black Licorice to make these spiders, but you can also use pretzel sticks.
Step by Step Instructions

Step 1. Untwist each Chocolate Sandwich Oreo.

Step 2. Then cut the black licorice into approximately 2 inch pieces. Place 4 pieces of the licorice on each side of the cookie. Put some of the white icing on the bottom of the opposite cookie.

Step 3. Place the cookies back together.

Step 4. Then use the icing to put the candy eyes on the Oreos for the spider face.
Pro Tips
- Adding Icing – Make sure to add enough icing to hold the Oreo together.
- Small Hands – This is a great activity for the kids to do for an easy Halloween activity.
- Regular Oreo Cookies. The cookies are easier to work with if they are regular and not double stuffed.
- Cut the licorice. Don’t leave the licorice too long or it might break the cookie.
- Attach eyes with icing. Use just a little bit of icing to attach the candy eyes. If you use too much, it will be messy, and they won’t stick as well.

Spider Oreo Cookies
Ingredients
- 12 Oreo Cookies
- Rope Black Licorice
- 24 Candy Eyes
- 4 oz White Icing
Instructions
- Untwist each Oreo.
- Cut the black licorice into approximately 2 inch pieces. You will need 8 per Oreo (96 total).
- Place 4 pieces of the licorice on each side of the cookie with the majority of the filling on the Oreo cookie. Put some of the white icing on the bottom of the opposite cookie to help hold it back on top.
- Place the cookies back together.
- Use the icing to put the candy eyes on the Oreos to create the face of the spider.
