What Are Orange Creamsicles Made Of?

It might be hard to believe but these ice pops only call for 3 ingredients. You just need orange juice, Greek Yogurt and sugar.

That is all you need to make this amazing recipe.

Ingredients

Ingredients for Orange creamsicle popsicles - orange juice, Greek Yogurt, granulated sugar.
  • Orange juice. You can use any brand or fresh orange juice to make these popsicles.
  • Vanilla Greek yogurt. This adds creaminess to the recipe and protein.
  • Granulated sugar. You can adjust the sweetness if desired.

Variations

  • Yogurt. Substitute plain Greek yogurt to make this Orange Creamsicle Recipe.
  • Ice cream. You can use vanilla ice cream instead of yogurt.
  • Full Fat Coconut Milk. Try using this instead of yogurt for a rich and creamy popsicle treat.
  • Sweetened condensed milk and heavy cream. Use ½ cup of each for a rich and decadent treat.
  • Lemon or Lime Juice. For a fun flavor twist, use lemonade or lime juice to make this recipe. I think pineapple juice would also be great and taste like a Dole Whip.
  • Different flavor yogurt. While vanilla will result in a classic flavor, try others for something different. You might be surprised with all of the combinations you come up with.
  • Orange zest. Finely grate a little orange zest and add to the popsicle mixture before freezing. It will add even more flavor and a pop of color.
  • Sweetener. Other options to try include honey or maple syrup.

FAQs

Can you make this recipe dairy free?

If you need a dairy free treat option, omit the Greek Yogurt and use canned coconut milk. This will still result in a really creamy popsicle but without the dairy.

How Long Will Creamsicle Popsicles Last?

They will last up to 6 months in the freezer if stored properly. I suggest removing them from the molds and placing inside a freezer bag.

The popsicle molds are not airtight and can lead to freezer burn over time.

Using a freezer bag will ensure they are stored airtight to maximize freshness. This storage method also makes it easier for children to grab one without the hassle of removing from the mold.

How to Remove Homemade Popsicles from Molds?

Run warm water over the outside of the molds. Only do this for a few seconds to loosen the popsicles. Gently pull on the popsicle sticks and they should come right out.
I would not use hot water because it is too easy to melt the popsicles.

What can I use if I don’t have popsicle molds?

If you do not have any popsicle molds, use a paper cup or ice cube tray to make these. You can use toothpicks for the ice cube trays and popsicles sticks for the cups.
