How to Make Starbucks Snowman Cookie

Step 1. First, melt chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Then melt in 20 second intervals and stir after each one.

Step 2. Next, use a separate bowl and combine the dry ingredients. Whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.

Step 3. Get out another separate bowl and beat together the melted white chocolate, butter and powdered sugar. Continue to beat until creamy and light and fluffy.

Step 4. Next, add the eggs. Mix on high speed until combined and add in the vanilla extract.

Step 5. Now, combine the dry ingredients with the butter mixture. Gradually add both together until just combined. Be careful not to over mix.

Step 6. Place the dough in the fridge covered for 30 minutes to an hour. Then roll out the cookie dough and cut into shapes using a snowman cookie cutter.

Step 7. While the oven is warming up, line the baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a metal spatula move the cut cookies to the parchment lined cookie sheet.

Step 8. Bake the cookies for 10 minutes until the cookies are lightly browned around the edges. Allow to cool on the pan a few minutes and then move to a wire rack.

Step 9. While the cookies are cooling, combine the icing ingredients in a bowl with a hand mixer. Beat for 4 minutes. If the icing is not stiff enough, add a little more powdered sugar.

Step 10. Get out 3 small bowls and divide the icing. You will dye one brown, orange and blue for the decorations.

Step 11. Use the remaining white to coat the cookies. Then sprinkle the white sugar sprinkles on the bottom of the cookies to look like snow. Allow to dry.

Step 12. Place the other colors of icing into piping bags with a tip (I used a Wilton #5 tip). Then use these colors to make the face, buttons, earmuffs and scarf. Allow to cool completely.

Storage
Store the leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Make sure to allow the cookies to cool first and then wrap them in plastic wrap.
Pro Tips
- Make sure that all the ingredients are at room temperature before preparing the cookies.
- Be careful not to over-mix the cookie dough as this could cause tough and dense cookies.
- Don’t overbake the cookies. Be careful that you don’t burn the bottoms.
- Make sure the cookies are cool before decorating.

FOR THE COOKIES:
- 2 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 6 oz White Chocolate
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 tsp salt

- 1 Large Egg
FOR THE ROYAL ICING:
- 2 egg whites
- 1 cup powder sugar
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
- Orange brown and blue gel food coloring
- White Sugar Sprinkles
Instructions
FOR THE COOKIES:
- Melt the white chocolate by placing it in a microwave safe bowl and heating it in 20 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until fully melted.
- In a medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. Then set aside.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the melted white chocolate, butter and powdered sugar until creamy and light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs and mix until combined. Then add in the vanilla extract. Continue mixing.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the butter mixture. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to over mix.
- Cover and refrigerate the dough for 1 hour so that the cookie dough will firm up and will be easier to work with.
- Roll out the dough onto a lightly floured surface until the dough is approximately ½ inch thick. Then use a Snowman cookie cutter to cut out the cookies.
- Continue this process until all the dough is formed into the cookies.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line the cookie sheet with parchment paper. Using a metal spatula move the cut cookies to the parchment lined cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes until the cookies are lightly browned around the edges (just a slight change of color).
- Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes and then carefully move the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Make sure that the cookies have cooled completely before applying the frosting or it will just melt off.
FOR THE ICING:
- Combine all ingredients (except your food coloring) in a mixing bowl mixing on medium speed for 4 minutes. If icing is not stiff enough add ¼ C powder sugar.
- Portion out a small amount of the icing into separate bowls to dye brown, orange and blue for the decorations.
- Use the remaining icing (the white icing) to coat the cookies for the white portion of the cookies.
- Sprinkle the white sugar on the bottom of the cookies to look like snow. Then let that icing dry before you add the decorations.
- Place the other colors of icing into piping bags with a tip (I used a Wilton #5 tip). Then use these colors to make the face, buttons, ear muffs and scarf.
- Allow the icing to cool completely and then the cookies are ready to serve and enjoy! Then the cookies are ready to serve and enjoy!
cookies are super good! if you want them to really taste like the starbucks cookies though, i recommend skipping the royal icing and doing melted white chocolate instead.
