Ingredients

Ingredients for Air Fryer Peanut Butter cookies - peanut butter, egg, sugar.
  • Creamy Peanut Butter. Creamy peanut butter will give the cookies the smoothest texture.
  • Egg. I used a large egg.

Variations and Additions

  • Chocolate Chips. Add ⅓ cup chocolate chips to the cookie mixture.
  • Melted chocolate. Once baked, dip the cookies into melted chocolate. Another idea is to drizzle chocolate on top.
  • Hershey Kiss. As soon as the cookies have finished cooking, place a Hershey Kiss on top. You can use traditional kisses or try using hugs.

Try some of these fun variations or enjoy them plain. Either way, this cookie recipe is amazing and always a hit.

FAQs

How to freeze?

We prefer to freeze the dough prior to baking. Go ahead and scoop the cookies into balls.
Place on a cookie sheet and flash freeze for 1 to 2 hours. This process will prevent the cookies from sticking once in the freezer.

Transfer the frozen cookie dough balls into a freezer bag or freezer container. Freeze up to 3 months.

You can bake whenever the craving strikes for homemade cookies. You may need to add a couple of minutes to the cooking time if frozen. This method is perfect if you want to enjoy just a couple of cookies or several.

How to tell when Air Fryer Peanut Butter Cookies are Done?

The cookies should be golden brown around the edges. The center should be mostly set.

Air fryer temperatures can vary so keep a close eye on the cookies while cooking. You do not want to overcook the cookies, or they will not be soft and chewy.

Why do you put fork marks in peanut butter cookies?

It helps the cookies to bake evenly when you make the crosshatch pattern. The edges will be perfectly crispy and the inside soft and chewy.

Not only does it help in the cooking process, but it looks pretty too.

Expert Tips

  • Air fryer cooking time. Air fryers vary so check on the cookies while cooking. You do not want to over cook them.
  • Allow to cool. The cookies need time to set before being transferred to a cooling rack. If you move them from the air fryer too soon, the cookies will crumble.
  • Peanut Butter. Feel free to use any type of peanut butter that you prefer. I like to use Jif or Skippy. However, we do not recommend natural peanut butter in this recipe.
