Why This Recipe Works

These crispy apple chips are inexpensive to make. They take less than 15 minutes, and the results are delicious.

You can use sweet apples or tart apples like granny smith apples. Kids and adults love this recipe. No need to heat up the oven. It’s an easy snack to offer instead of junk food and treats!

Pro Tips

  • Cook in batches. It’s ok if the apples overlap slightly but you do not want them piled on top of each other.  You may have to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • Watch closely. The apple slices can easily burn so make sure to watch them closely while cooking.
  • Crispy Apples. Crunchy, crisp apples are the best for this recipe.  I love using Fuji, Granny Smith, Honey Crisp, Gala or Pink Lady apples.
  • Center of the apple. You can remove the center of the apple slices if you prefer, but I usually just leave them and remove the seeds, and they turn out great every time.
  • Olive Oil Spray. Make sure to use an olive oil spray and not a non-stick spray as the non-stick spray will deteriorate the coating on the air fryer basket.
  • Serve right away. These are best served immediately as the apple chips will lose their crispness after a few days.

Storage

Store the leftover apple slices in an airtight container for a few days. However, they are best served right away for the best taste and texture.
