Expert Tips

  • Quality Ingredients – When making these popsicles, we like to use quality ingredients. This helps with the flavor and texture.
  • Sweetness – The ingredients that make these popsicles have a natural sweetness. There is no need to add sugar but you can if you want it more sweeter. You can also substitute the honey for maple syrup.
  • Filling the Molds – Make sure to not to overfill the popsicle molds. While the popsicles are freezing they will expand some in the molds.
  • Alternating Pattern – When filling the molds, alternate with the cherry and pineapple mixture. This gives a beautiful look without everything blending together.
  • Freezing Popsicles – We recommend making the popsicles and allowing them to freeze overnight.
  • Room Temperature – Homemade popsicles thaw quickly. So do not leave this frozen treat out at room temperature for very long.

FAQs

How to Remove Popsicles from Mold?

We love using popsicles molds when making these pineapple cherry popsicles. If you do not have molds, you can fill cups with the popsicle mixture. Then use wooden sticks to stick in the mixture.

Easily remove the popsicle from the mold by running warm water over the bottom of the molds. Only run water over briefly so it doesn’t melt the popsicle.

How to Store Leftovers?

Keep the popsicles in the molds in the freeze until you are ready to enjoy them.  They will last for 2-3 months in the freezer.

How Long will Homemade Popsicles last?

These cherry popsicles will last up to a month stored properly in the freezer. Make sure they are covered so they stay fresh and without freezer burn.

You can either leave them in the mold or remove each one and place in a freezer bag.

I prefer to store them in bags because they are easier to grab and go. You don’t have to try to remove from the mold each time you want one.
