  • Step 3. Pour into ice pop molds. Pour the mixture into a popsicle mold and add popsicle sticks.
  • Step 4. Freeze overnight. Place the molds in the freezer. Freeze for 4-6 hours or until the popsicles freeze completely. Overnight works great too and this is what we usually do.
  • Step 5. Remove from molds. When you are ready to serve, run warm water on the outside of the molds. This will loosen the popsicles from the molds.

Storage:

Keep the popsicles in the molds in the freeze until you are ready to enjoy them.  They will last for 2-3 months in the freezer.

Another option is to remove them from the molds and store inside a freezer bag. This option is more convenient for younger children so they can grab a snack easily.

Variations to try:

  • Maple Syrup. Substitute maple syrup instead of honey in this recipe.
  • Other Fruits. This recipe is also tasty with strawberries, peaches and raspberries instead of cherries.
  • Creamsicles. Turn this recipe into a creamy variety by adding Greek Yogurt, Coconut Milk or Heavy Cream.

Pro Tips:

  • Popsicle Molds. Don’t worry if you do not have popsicle molds for this recipe. You don’t need to order anything special and can just use paper cups.
  • Cherries. Select cherries that are sweet and in season for the best flavor.
  • Sweetener. Adjust the sweetener to taste based on your preference. This may need to be adjusted based on the sweetness of the cherries.
  • Lemon. Don’t omit this ingredient. It brings out the flavor of the cherries and tastes amazing.
  • Fresh or Frozen Fruit. Either option is fine in this recipe.
  • Run under warm water to remove from molds. Carefully run the popsicle molds under warm water to loosen from molds. Do not use hot water or you risk melting the popsicles.
