This sweet and salty snack is coated in a yummy cinnamon sugar topping. The sweetness from the topping combined with the saltiness from the pretzels make a fabulous treat. It is so good, and an inexpensive oven baked dessert to make.

Try it dipped in Slow Cooker Chocolate Fondue Recipe.

We love to make an easy pretzel recipe and also enjoy Chocolate Covered Pretzels and Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites. Another sweet treat to try is Taco Bell Cinnamon Twist.

Why This Recipe Works

You can make a large batch in hardly any time at all. It is so fast and easy. Not to mention your house will smell amazing as the cinnamon sugar pretzels bake.

It’s perfect for after school or any time of day! The salt and sweet flavor combined with crunchy texture is wonderful.

We also like to make this for food gifts and it’s much cheaper than purchasing at the mall.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Pretzels- Any shape will work. The square pretzels are also great for this recipe.
  • Oil- You can substitute coconut oil for vegetable oil.
  • Gluten Free– If you have friends or family that need a gluten free option, substitute a gluten free pretzel in this recipe.
  • Melt white chocolate and drizzle over the pretzels. You can also use white chocolate for dipping.
  • Not only are these pretzels delicious for snacking but you can also crush them for topping on No Churn Vanilla Ice Cream. My kids love this! It is also a great way to use any pretzels that get crushed into pieces.

How to make cinnamon sugar pretzels

  • Step 1. First, preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
Bowl of cinnamon mixture ready to coat pretzels.

Step 2. Second, get a large bowl and combine the oil, white sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon together.  Stir the cinnamon sugar coating together to mix well using a slotted spoon. Next, add the pretzels to the mixture and stir until all the pretzels are coated.

Pretzels on baking sheet.

Step 3. Finally, pour the pretzels on a baking sheet. To make cleanup easier, you might want to line the pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. They need to bake about 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Stir the pretzels halfway while cooking until the mixture has dried on the pretzels. Allow to cool on the sheet pan.

Storage

Put the leftover cinnamon sugar pretzel bites in an airtight container. This sweet treat will last about 5 to 7 days.
