Pro Tips

  • Use firm apples โ€“ Choose firm varieties to prevent them from becoming mushy when cooked in the batter.
  • Peeling is optional โ€“ You can peel the apples or leave the skin on, depending on your preference.
  • Uniform slices โ€“ Cut the apples into similar-sized pieces so they cook evenly.
  • Proper oil temperature โ€“ Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding the apples to ensure a crisp, golden coating.
  • Serve immediately โ€“ This treat is best enjoyed hot. Drain on paper towels and serve with your favorite toppings right away.
  • Avoid overcrowding โ€“ Add apple slices to the batter and oil one at a time to prevent sticking and uneven cooking.
  • Extra crispiness โ€“ For a crunchier exterior, double-dip the apple slices in the batter before frying.
  • Flavor boost โ€“ Sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar or drizzle caramel over the fried apples for added sweetness.

Storage

Best served fresh โ€“ Deep fried apples are at their best immediately after cooking for maximum crispiness.

Short-term storage โ€“ If needed, store cooled fried apples in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Reheat in a 350ยฐF oven for a few minutes to restore some crispiness.

Do not freeze โ€“ Freezing is not recommended as it will make the apples soggy and compromise the texture.
