Deep Fried Bananas taste so rich and decadent. It’s one of the best Deep Fried Desserts and a great dessert or snack. This decadent dessert is even better with No Churn Vanilla Ice Cream.

I also love to make Bananas Fosters for another rich dessert.

Why We Love This

This recipe is versatile and easy to serve. I think you will love it.

It is a fabulous way to use bananas that are too ripe. Instead of tossing them, use them to make deep fried bananas.

Ingredients

Ingredients for Deep fried bananas - bananas, vegetable oil, pancake mix, milk, powdered sugar.
  • Overripe Bananas. It’s important the bananas are ripe.
  • Vegetable Oil. This is good for frying because it has a low smoke point.
  • Pancake Mix. You can use any brand you like.
  • Milk. I use whole milk, but you can use reduced fat milk if you prefer.
  • Powdered Sugar. For smooth powdered sugar, sift before using.

Serving Suggestions

Storage

We prefer these fresh but you can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.  They will get softer once they are stored.

I suggest placing wax paper in between the fried bananas. This will prevent them from sticking and also absorb any excess grease.

This recipe is not recommended for freezing. The texture will become mushy as it thaws.

Pro Tips

  • Serve immediately. These are best served warm. Try to enjoy this right away while they are fresh.
  • Rotate while cooking. Turn the fried bananas halfway thru the cooking process. This will help each side to brown properly.
  • Ripe bananas. Overly ripe bananas work best for this recipe.
  • Pancake mix. Use your favorite pancake mix that your family enjoys. Any brand is fine including store brand.
