We love when eggnog hits the stores during the holidays. So making this pie for the holidays was sure to please everyone.

The strong eggnog flavor combined with instant pudding mix and whipped cream makes this a delicious pie to make. The creamy texture and amazing taste, we make this every year.

Ingredients

Ingredients needed for eggnog pie - graham cracker crust, instant vanilla pudding mix, eggnog, whipped topping nutmeg
  • Pre-made Graham Cracker Crust. I used a store-bought pie crust.
  • Box Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix. Use instant pudding.
  • Eggnog. Full fat not fat free.
  • Whipped Topping. Cool Whip – thawed
  • Ground Nutmeg. These spices enhance the flavor.

Substitutions and Additions

  • Eggnog – Feel free to make homemade eggnog. We used store bought but homemade would be delicious too.
  • Instant Pudding – Change the instant pudding mix by using cheesecake or white chocolate.
  • Flavoring – This eggnog custard pie is great with added flavoring. Add in a teaspoon of peppermint extract or rum extract.

How to Make Eggnog Pie

Step 1 – In a medium bowl combine the eggnog with the pudding mix. Add in Nutmeg.

Step 2 – Add in Whipped Topping to the mixture.

Step 3 – Stir in the whipped topping with a spatula. Be careful not to overmix or the cool whip will go flat.

Step 4 – Pour the eggnog pie filling into the 9-inch pie crust.  Gently tap the pie on the countertop so that the top of the pie is flat and even.  

Recipe Tips

  • Crust – We used a pre-made pie crust. But feel free to make a Homemade Graham Crackers Pie Crust with graham cracker crumbs and melted butter.
  • Combining Ingredients – Gently combine the ingredients by hand or with a stand mixer. Do not over mix so the cool whip does go flat.
  • Full Fat Ingredients – Make sure to use full fat eggnog with this recipe.

Instructions
