Ingredients

Football brownies ingredients- brown sugar, cocoa powder, flour, eggs, butter, vanilla extract.

Brownies

  • Brown Sugar: Adds rich sweetness and a subtle molasses flavor; Homemade Brown Sugar Recipe or store-bought works.
  • Cocoa Powder: Unsweetened cocoa gives deep chocolate flavor without added sweetness.
  • All-Purpose Flour: Measure accurately by spooning into the cup instead of scooping to prevent dense brownies.
  • Eggs: Large eggs provide structure and moisture for fudgy brownies.
  • Butter: Melted butter adds richness and helps create a chewy, fudgy texture.
  • Vanilla Extract: Pure vanilla enhances the chocolate flavor and adds depth.

For Decorating

  • White Decorating Gel: Used to pipe the football stitching lines on the brownies, adding a fun and realistic football look.

Variations

  • Different Icing Colors: Use colored decorating gel (like team colors) instead of white for a fun twist.
  • Nutty Brownies: Add chopped nuts to the batter for extra texture.
  • Peanut Butter Brownies: Swirl in peanut butter before baking for a rich, nutty flavor.
  • Fudge Brownie Base: Make the brownies extra fudgy by reducing flour slightly or adding an extra egg yolk.
  • Mini Brownies: Bake in a mini muffin tin for bite-sized football treats, perfect for parties.

Pro Tips

  • Use Parchment Paper: Line your baking pan to easily lift the brownies out and cut clean shapes.
  • Cool Completely: Allow brownies to cool fully before decorating to prevent the icing from melting.
  • Consistent Piping: Practice piping football lines on a plate first to get steady hands.
  • Room-Temperature Icing: Ensure decorating gel or icing is at room temperature for smooth application.
  • Even Thickness: Spread brownie batter evenly in the pan to ensure uniform baking.

Storage

Room Temperature: Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

Refrigeration: If your kitchen is warm or the icing is soft, store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Let brownies come to room temperature before serving for the best texture.

Freezing: Wrap brownies tightly in plastic wrap and then in foil. Freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw at room temperature before decorating or serving.
