Substitutions and Additions

  • Graham Crackers. Swap the oreo cookie crumbs for graham cracker crumbs. You can use chocolate or regular.
  • Sprinkles. Top the dessert cups with sprinkles.
  • Pudding. You can use vanilla pudding instead of instant chocolate pudding in the dirt pudding cups.
  • Nutter Butter football dirt cups. Swap the cookies for Nutter Butters to make the footballs.
  • Gummy Worms. Instead of footballs, top the pudding layer with gummy warms.

Step by step instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 1. Use a microwave safe bowl and melt the chocolate in intervals. Then dip the cookies into the chocolate. Remove any excess chocolate from each cookie.

Step 2. Then place each cookie on the baking sheet. Continue until all the cookies are coated in the melted chocolate.

Step 3. Let the chocolate set and then use the writing icing to draw laces on each of the cookies. They should look like footballs.

Step 4. Crush the Oreos with a food processor.

Step 5. Get out a separate large mixing bowl and whisk together the pudding mix and milk. Place in the fridge to allow the pudding to set. Stir before using.

Step 6. Use a chilled bowl and add the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar and green food coloring.  I used a stand mixer for 3-4 minutes until stiff peaks formed.

Step 7. Assemble the cups with each layer. Start by placing the Oreo crumbs into the bottom of each cup.

Step 8. Next, use a spoon to top with the chocolate pudding.

Step 10. Top each cup with a football cookie. Now, serve and enjoy.

Pro Tips

  • Allow the chocolate to set on the cookies. Make sure the chocolate has set before adding the white icing on top.
  • Crush the oreos. If you do not have a food processor, you can use a ziplock bag. Seal the bag and crush with a rolling pin or back of a spoon.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Milano Cookies
  • 12 ounces Melting Chocolate
  • White Writing Icing
  • 20 Oreos
  • 1 box Chocolate Pudding Mix 3.3 ounces
  • 2 cups Cold Milk
  • 2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • Green Food Coloring

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Melt the melting chocolate based on the package instructions.  Dip each of the Milano cookies into the melted chocolate.  Use a fork to remove the cookies and carefully take it on the edge of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate.
  • Place on the prepared baking sheet.  Continue until all the cookies are coated in the chocolate.
  • Once the chocolate is set use the writing icing draw laces on the center of each of the cookies so that they look like footballs.
  • Place the Oreos into a food processor or blender and blend until it’s processed into crumbs.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the pudding mix and milk. Refrigerate to allow the pudding to set.
  • In a chilled bowl, add the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar and green food coloring.  Mix with a stand up or hand held mixer for 3-4 minutes until stiff peaks are formed.
  • Then it’s time to assemble the cups.  Place Oreo crumbs into the bottom of each cup.  Top with the chocolate pudding and then pipe the green whipping cream on top.
  • Then top each cup with a football cookie and then they are ready to serve and enjoy!
