Ingredients
- Butter. Allow this to softened at room temperature.
- Cream Cheese. Full fat block style cream cheese is best.
- Powdered Kept Friendly Sweetener. I used swerve.
- Vanilla Extract. Pure vanilla extract is recommended.

How to make Keto Chocolate Frosting
- Step 1. Melt Chocolate and Coconut Oil. Use a medium microwave-safe bowl and combine the chocolate and coconut oil. Melt in 30 second increments and stir in between until smooth. Allow to cool.
Step 2. Next, in a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth with a hand mixer. Add in the powdered sweetener and the cocoa powder until well combined. Add the chocolate and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
Step 3. Add the heavy whipping cream gradually until it is a spreadable consistency. Whip the sugar-free frosting until combined and the texture is smooth. Then use on your favorite keto desserts.
Storage
Store your Keto Chocolate Frosting in the refrigerator inside an airtight container. The frosting will get hard in the refrigerator but when you are ready to serve, just set it out on the counter.
Give it a quick stir and your frosting will become fluffy again.

- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 3 ounces cream cheese softened
- 2/3 cup powdered kept friendly sweetener like swerve
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream room temperature
Instructions
- In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate and coconut oil. Melt in 30 second increments, stirring in between until smooth. Set aside to cool to lukewarm.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Beat in the powdered sweetener and the cocoa powder until well combined.
- Add the chocolate and vanilla extract and beat until smooth. The mixture will be very thick at this point.
- Add the cream a few tablespoons at a time until a spreadable consistency is achieved. (How much cream you need depends on the other ingredients…certain brands will require more cream).
