- Non Alcoholic Margarita Mix
- Tequila, divided
- Limes, zested, divided
- Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Lime, juiced
- Whipped Topping
- Lime, cut into wedges (for topping)
How to make margarita poke cake
- Make the cake. Use a large bowl to prepare the cake mix based on the package instructions. However, use the margarita mix instead of water in the cake mix. Add in 2 Tbsp of Tequila and 1 of lime zest to the cake batter.
- Bake the cake. Pour into a prepared 9X13 baking pan and bake based on the package instructions.
- Allow to cool. Let the cake cool and then poke holes throughout the cake using the round end of a wooden spoon.
- Get out a medium bowl. Then in a mixing bowl, whisk together then sweetened condensed with 1 tbsp of tequila and then lime juice. Pour this mixture evenly into the holes of the cake.
- Refrigerate the cake. Cover and refrigerate the cake overnight.
- Make the topping. Then mix the whipped topping with ¼ cup of the margarita mix. Spread this topping on top of the cake.
Top with the remaining lime zest and lime wedges. Enjoy!
