What is Pecan Pie Brownies?

Pecan pie is a type of sugar pie. It has a base of corn syrup and brown sugar blended with other delicious ingredients and of course pecans. This pie has a rich buttery taste and is sweet and amazing. The best thing about this pie, it isn’t hard to make.

We decided to change up a classic pecan pie and add a brownie crust. Instead of having a traditional pie crust, the brownie becomes the crust. It combines the flavors of brownies and pecan pie all one bite.

The Pecan Pie ingredient list is simple and you likely already have most of what you need. Many people think it is complicated to make pecan pie but it isn’t at all. You probably just need to pick up some pecans and a brownie mix to make this dessert.

This pecan pie brownies is a really simple dessert recipe and I think you will be pleased how easy it is.

Using corn syrup gives the pecan pie filing a sweet syrup in recipes. If you are out of corn syrup another option you can use is agave syrup or maple syrup. Honey is also a good option if you prefer.

Can I use White Sugar instead of Brown Sugar?

Yes, you can white sugar as a substitute for brown sugar. You can also mix the two as long as it equals to one cup.

Pecan Pie Brownies Tips:

  • Chocolate Brownie Mix – When mixing the brownie ingredients together, don’t overmix. This causes the brownie to be to hard.
  • Brownie – Cooking time will vary based on the type of pan you use. Adjust the time accordingly.
  • Cooking Brownie – Make sure not to skip the step to cook brownies for half the time before adding the pecan pie topping. This will ensure that you the brownie gets cooked.
  • Toasted Pecans – If you prefer you can toast the pecans. It is not necessary but some say that this enhances the pecan flavoring.
  • Cool Completely – Before slicing the pecan pie brownies, we recommend cooling completely. You may even need to place in the refrigerator. This will help to get a clean cut for the pecan pie brownies.
