Ingredients

Ingredients for Crock pot pecan pie - pie crust, eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, pecan halves.
  • Refrigerated Pie Crust โ€“ Store-bought pie crust works well for convenience, but you can also make a simple 3 Ingredient Pie Crust Recipe if you prefer.
  • Eggs โ€“ Lightly beaten eggs help bind the filling and create a smooth, custard-like texture.
  • Light or Dark Corn Syrup โ€“ Both work; light gives a classic sweet flavor, while dark adds a richer, deeper taste.
  • Packed Light Brown Sugar โ€“ Adds sweetness and caramel notes to the filling. Homemade brown sugar can be used if desired.
  • Butter โ€“ Melted butter enriches the filling and enhances its gooey texture.
  • Vanilla Extract โ€“ Pure vanilla extract gives depth and warmth to the filling.
  • Pecan Halves โ€“ Using pecan halves provides a visually appealing topping and a satisfying crunch. Crushed pecans can be used if preferred, but halves are recommended for presentation.

  • Mini Pies โ€“ Make individual pies using a muffin tin or small ramekins for single servings.
  • Gluten-Free Crust โ€“ Use a gluten-free pie crust or almond flour crust for a gluten-free version.
  • Honey Pecan Pie โ€“ Replace corn syrup with honey for a slightly floral, natural sweetness.

Pro Tips

  • Allow the pie to set โ€“ Let the pie rest for at least 1 hour after cooking. This ensures the filling firms up and prevents it from falling apart when removing from the crock pot.
  • Use crock pot liners โ€“ Liners make cleanup much easier and allow you to lift the pie out of the crock pot without sticking or breaking.
  • Avoid overfilling the crust โ€“ Keep the filling below the top edge of the pie crust to prevent spills and ensure even cooking.
  • Check for even cooking โ€“ Make sure the crock pot heats evenly; some models may cook faster on one side, so rotate if necessary.
  • Use room temperature ingredients โ€“ Eggs and butter should be at room temperature to help the filling mix smoothly.
  • Optional garnish โ€“ Toasted pecans on top after baking add extra crunch and visual appeal.
  • Serve warm โ€“ For the best texture and flavor, serve the pie slightly warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
