DESSERTS ON A DIME
Prep Time: 20 Min
Cook Time: 40 Min
– 2 cans Cinnamon Rolls – 5 Granny Smith Apples – 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice – 1/2 cup Sugar – 1/4 tsp Salt – 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon – 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
Cut each of the cinnamon rolls in half Sprinkle flour on a working surface and use a rolling pin to make them thin.
Layer the bottom of the pie pan with the cinnamon rolls . Then bake for 5-7 minutes.
Toss apples and lemon juice to make sure that the apples are coated. Then add in the sugar, salt, cinnamon and cornstarch.
Then add the apple mixture in the pie pan and layer the cinnamon rolls on top of the pie to make the top crust.
Cover the pie with foil and bake for 35 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for 10 more minutes.
Once the pie is cool, drizzle with the frosting that came in the cinnamon roll packages.
Then the pie is ready to slice, serve and enjoy!
I used the original Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls for this recipe and it worked great.
Refrigerate any leftover pie covered for up to 5 days.
You can use a combination of apples but we prefer Granny Smith.
