Pro Tips

  • Keep warm while serving. When serving, keep in a small slow cooker on the warm setting or in a fondue pot.
  • Thin the fondue if needed. If the fondue is too thick, thin it out with more heavy whipping cream until it’s the consistency that you prefer.
  • Stir while melting. Make sure to stir constantly while the chocolate is melting.
  • Don’t boil the chocolate. Heat on low and watch the mixture carefully. You do not want it to boil.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of chocolate is best?

I used Ghirardelli chocolate to make the fondue. It’s important to use a high-quality chocolate to make this.

Can I use other types of chocolate?

Sure! Swap the white chocolate for dark chocolate or milk chocolate.

Can I make fondue ahead of time?

Yes, it is easy to prepare in advance and keep warm in a crock pot. I would only make it 1-2 hours ahead of time.

What if I need to thicken the fondue?

Add more chocolate if you need to thicken the fondue consistency. Keep in mind it will thicken as it sits.
