Pro Tips

  • Allow the chocolate to melt in intervals. Microwave 30 seconds at a time and stir. This will prevent the mixture from burning.
  • Piping the chocolate drizzle. You can use either a piping bag or ziplock bag. If you do not have a piping bag, the ziploc is easy to use. Just cut off the corner and pipe as normal.
  • Place cookies on a lollipop stick. This makes it so easy to dip and then you have an extra fun treat. Allow to dry and wrap in cellophane for the perfect dessert to hand out.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to store?

Refrigerate any leftover Oreos in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Make sure the chocolate hardens before storing or they will stick together.

Allow the white chocolate dipped oreos to sit at room temperature before serving.

You can freeze the cookies. However, it is a possibility the coating will crack when thawed. If you do try to freeze them, place inside a freezer container separated by wax paper.

What is the difference between white chocolate and white candy melts?

We used white candy melts because they are easier to melt and work with. They easily coat the cookies and the finish is very smooth.

You can use white chocolate chips. However, they don’t melt quite as smooth. Also, they will take longer to set when using white chocolate.

In the end, it is based on preference and you can use the one you prefer.

Why is the coating not setting?

If the kitchen or environment is too warm, the cookies may take longer to set. Resolve this issue by placing the cookies in the fridge. This will hurry along the process if you are working in a warm kitchen.
