What is the Difference between a Cake Mix and a Cookie Mix?
The ingredients about the same for cake mix and cookie mix it the amount of the ingredients you use and the batter. A cake batter has a runnier texture but a cookie mix has a thicker batter.
Ingredients:
- Yellow Boxed Cake Mix
- Vegetable Oil
- Eggs
- Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
That is all you need for the best chocolate chip cookies.
How to Make Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookies:
- Step 1 – Heat Oven – First thing preheat your oven.
- Step 2 – Mix the cake mix, oil and eggs – Second, mix all of the ingredients together except the chocolate chips. This will be thick but that is normal.
- Step 3 – Mix in chocolate chips – Next, stir in the chocolate chips in the mixing bowl. Be gentle while mixing in the chocolate chips.
- Step 4 – Scoop the Cookie Dough – Lastly, put the cookie dough on the baking sheet by the spoonful. I like to use a cookie scoop to do this but it’s not necessary.
- Step 5 – Scoop the same size – However, it sure makes it easy and you can scoop a ton of cookies quickly. It also helps to ensure the cookies are all the same size which helps them bake evenly.
- Step 6 – Bake Cookies – Bake until they get just slightly brown around the edges. Let them cool for several minutes on the baking sheet before you move them.
This is really important as moving too soon can cause the cookies to break. You don’t want to rush this step and have the cookies fall apart.
- Step 7 – Cool Cookies – Move the cookies to a wire rack so they can cool completely. This recipe is really that simple.
Recipe Substitutions and Additions:
- Betty Crocker Cake Mix – Feel free to change the cake mix to change the flavor of the cookies. We used yellow cake mix but you can use a white cake mix or a chocolate cake mix.
