Frequently Asked Questions

How to freeze?

Freezing the dough is very simple. Once you form the dough balls, place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Flash freeze for 1 to 2 hours. Then transfer the cookie dough balls to a freezer container or bag.

Bake as normal when you are ready to enjoy. You will need to add a couple extra minutes to the baking time if frozen.

Does the dough need to be chilled?

It is optional but does offer a couple of benefits. If you refrigerate the dough for 15 to 20 minutes before baking, it will help to prevent the cookies from spreading during baking.

This will also make the cookies have a fabulous thick texture. If you have time to chill the dough, it is definitely worth the time.

What makes a cookie soft and chewy or crispy?

The moisture content has a lot to do with the texture of the cookie. Brown Sugar softens a cookie due to the molasses. Whereas granulated sugar has a lower moisture content and results in a crispier cookie.

What type of chocolate chips are best?

We prefer to use a combination of milk chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and semi-sweet chips.

This is based on preference, and you can certainly use your favorites. Dark chocolate is also delicious in this recipe.

What type of cocoa powder do you use?

Unsweetened cocoa powder is best in this cookie recipe.
